This next Sunday is Easter. Whether or not you celebrate it is your choice. Unfortunately some people don't have that choice. They are broke. It's even sadder when kids are in the house.
Many grocery stores are advertising spiral sliced hams for $1.27 a lb. Grab a 10 lb ham and you've spent about $13 bucks. Throw in some corn, instant mashed potatoes, rolls and for around $20 you have just given a family a meal they can eat for a few days. Your $20 donation will go a lot farther than just donating it to a charity who will take half off the top for "expenses". You can drop off your ham and bag of groceries to any local food shelter. Many times people will read a story and think "Hey, I can spare $20 and do that" yet never follow-up. Donate it to a neighbor that you know who is in need!
